DMB Leaked Song – Why I am

Here is one of the newest songs from Dave Matthews Band’s newest album Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King, it’s the song Why I am and it’s very, very good. Dave says in the video that this was Leroi Moore’s favorite song.

Explain to me why you call this “leaked”? What you are playing is a legal live taped show that the band supports. So, calling it leaked doesn’t make any sense.

There are a couple of reasons we call this a “leaked” song.
1. It’s not available for purchase and will be on the new album when officially released, it was leaked to the public by Dave Matthews at a live concert, but the term “leaked” is used when associating a new song or song debut that can’t be purchased yet. Reason #2 is the main reason we use the term “Leaked Song”
2. The public searches for the new songs using the word “leaked”, we get over 300 hits per day from people searching Google for “Leaked Dave Matthews Song” or some form of that phrase, usually with the song title in it.
We understand we didn’t leak this song and it was played live and recorded legally, we are big Dave Matthews Band fans and know how this works, we are providing the search results people are searching for to hear this song.
